40 years of history

The Especialist, ISSN 2318-7115, (QUALIS A3), with over 40 years of existence, is one of the first Applied Linguistics journals in Brazil. It has changed, renewed its appearance and broadened the focus of research lines. This change is necessary in view of the globalized world and the new forms of interaction that have altered the modus operandi of doing research and sharing knowledge. It is important to renew because it is in the pursuit of (re)learning in the field of research and inclusion that it is possible to reflect on “the world we live in”. Thus, as it is a biannual publication, linked to the Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies at PUC-SP, together with the research group ILCAE - Linguistic Inclusion in School Activities Scenarios, articles are received and reviews from collaborators from all parts of the country and abroad, with works that deal with different areas of languages in Applied Linguistics, such as: theoretical and applied approaches to the teaching-learning of mother tongues and foreign languages; training of teachers and language teaching program coordinators; speech analysis; classroom interaction; analysis of linguistic genres; corpus linguistics; distance education; digital technology and language teaching and learning; languages for specific purposes; reports of systematized teaching experience. The change was necessary, however, the work developed in the magazine continues to be the place of collaboration, agency, action and interaction, sharing between the (super) diverse experiences that occur in society.
