The finance ministry sold a higher than planned 490 million lei ($120.50 million) of March 2022 treasury bonds on Thursday, at an average accepted yield at 4.19 percent, central bank data showed.

The leu firmed on Thursday as a sharp decline in Romanian inflation boosted demand in a government bond auction, pushing yields lower.
