Roque Antonio Carrazza, Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - PUC-SP, São Paulo, SP

Graduated in Law (Applied Social Sciences) from the Faculty of Law of the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1972), having been chosen by contest, speaker of the class. Master in Tax Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1976). PhD in Tax Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1978). FREE ADVOENT IN TAX LAW from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1985). Since 1989, he has held the position of Full Professor of Tax Law of the PUC/SP Law School (approved in a public tender, held in 1989). He received the title of Emeritus Professor from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo in 2023. He was Deputy Director of the PUC/SP Law School (1979 to 1981) and coordinator of the PUC/PUC/Postgraduate Studies Program at PUC/ SP (from 1983 to 1991). He is currently deputy chief of the Department of Tax, Commercial and Economic Law of the Faculty of Law of PUC/SP (held the position of head of the department from 1991 to 2013 and once again held it from 2016 to 07/2023). He is also a member of the Union of Catholic jurists of São Paulo (Ujucasp), of the Paulista Academy of Legal Letters (where he occupies Chair N 27), of the Paulista Academy of Law (which presided from 2002 to 2008 and where he occupies the chair N 39), the Brazilian Academy of Tax Law (where it occupies Chair N 19), of the Superior Council of Law of the Federation of Trade of the State of São Paulo, the Legal Council of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo, of the Deliberative Council of Institute of Lawyers of São Paulo (IASP) and the Council of Cathedratic Members of the Brazilian Academy of Constitutional Law (ABDCONST). Honorary Professor at the Center for University Studies Law School (CEU Law School), from the State of São Paulo, integrates, in Brazil and abroad, several legal institutes, associations and scientific communities, as well as editorial councils of specialized magazines in public law. There have also been numerous examining newsstands, including abroad, and participated, as a lecturer or debater, congresses, seminars and legal symposiums, throughout the national territory and in other countries. It received, among other awards, honors and awards, the Faculty of Law Medal of PUC/SP for having stood out, in a particular way and compatible with the principles of the University, in defense of the legal order, human rights and the social order. Author of Books The active subject of the tax obligation (published in 1977), the regulation in Brazilian Tax Law (published in 1981), conflicts of jurisdiction: a concrete case (published in 1984), tax constitutional principles and tax competence (published in 1986 ), Tax Constitutional Law Course (published in 1991 and already in the 34th edition), ICMS (published in 1994 and already in the 19th edition), the tax immunity of state -owned public services state companies (published in 2004), Income Tax : Constitutional profile and specific themes (published in 2005 and already in the 3 edition), the tax immunity of the foundations of public law (published in 2006), reflections on the tax obligation (published in 2010) and tax immunities of temples and religious institutions ( published in 2015). This last work, without prejudice to others, is considered a reference work, having deserved the remarkable full professor and emeritus Ives Gandra da Silva Martins, the observation that it fills gap that so far, inexplicably, despite some sparse studies, remained. He is also the author of more than 30 books in co -authorship and approximately three hundred doctrinal articles.
