Abstract

This article aims to present a mathematical modeling problem focused on the teaching of geometry using GeoGebra, highlighting the mathematical skills developed by students and the geometric concepts addressed. Furthermore, the article seeks to reflect on the relevance and contributions of mathematical modeling and the use of GeoGebra in geometry education.

Professor Classe I, Nível A, da Secretaria de Educação do Estado do Pará (Seduc/PA). Licenciado em Matemática pela Universidade do Estado do Pará (Câmpus-X/Uepa). Especialista em Metodologia do Ensino de Matemática e Física pelo Centro Universitário Internacional (Uninter) (Polo Capanema/PA). Especialista em Matemática Fundamental pela Universidade Federal do Pará (Cuncast/Ufpa). Mestre em Educação em Ciências e Matemáticas pela Universidade Federal do Pará (Ufpa, Bolsa CNPq). Doutor em Educação em Ciências e Matemáticas pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação em Ciências e Matemáticas da Universidade Federal do Pará (PPGECM/Iemci/Ufpa, Bolsa Capes entre 2017-2018), com período sanduíche em 2018 no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, Contextos Contemporâneos e Demandas Populares da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (PPGEduc/IE/UFRRJ). Nesse período foi Membro do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas da TIC em Educação Matemática (Gepeticem/UFRRJ). Membro suplente do Conselho Nacional Fiscal da Sociedade Brasileira de Educação Matemática (gestão jul./2019-jul./2022), e Membro titular desse mesmo conselho (gestão jul./2022-jul./2025), atuando na pesquisa de temas como Modelagem Matemática, Tecnologias Digitais voltados para o Ensino de Matemática, e Educação Online.
