Abstract

ABSTRACT The paracoccidioidomycosis is the most widespread endemic mycosis in Latin America. It is caused by the Paracoccidioides brasiliensis fungus and was first described by Adolfo Lutz in São Paulo. Cases with intestinal involvement by this deep mycosis show up generally as part of a systemic disease. In this article we report a case of Paracoccidioidomycosis with an uncommon clinical presentation and isolated intestinal involvement, and we emphasize endoscopy and anatomopathological findings.
