Abstract

ABSTRACT Squamous cell carcinoma of the soft palate (SCCSP) is a low-prevalence neoplasm which represents the minority of tumors that may affect the oropharynx. When diagnosed in its early stage, radiotherapy or surgery are suggested as a therapeutic approach with similar rates of locoregional control and survival. This study aims at reporting the case of a patient sent to the Department of Radiation of the Sírio Libanês Hospital with a diagnosis of SCCSP and treated with curative radiotherapy (teletherapy technique with intensity modulated beam and high dose breach therapy with iridium -192).
