Dame Judi Dench stuns in lavish gown when accepting Golden Icon Award

She is currently jetting around the world promoting her new movie Red Joan.

And during the premiere of the film at the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, the talented Dame Judi Dench was awarded once more for her acting prowess when given the Golden Icon Award for her lifework on Wednesday.

The 83-year-old actress stunned in a lavish gold patterned jacket and a flowing black gown when attending the occasion.

Opting to accessorise with a long pendant necklace, the Oscar winner completed her regal look with a matching clutch.

The film is inspired by the life of Melita Norwood, the KGB's longest-serving British spy.

Earlier this week, the Dame was seen supporting her daughter Finty Williams during the Pack of Lies press night in London on Monday.

The actress, 46, is in a revival of Hugh Whitemore's 1983 play at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark.

She stars in the very role her mother played to acclaim during the original, as she's been cast as Barbara Jackson.

Sporting a fetching black suit and matching lacy camisole top, Finty looked delighted to be stood next to Dame Judi. 

The Shakespeare in Love actress opted for a casual look when supporting her daughter back stage.

Dame Judi wore a white top along with a pair of jeans and a long, cosy, cardigan.

The Mrs Brown star admitted that she will always live in the shadow of her mother - who has won one Academy Award, a Tony, four television BAFTA Awards, six film, and seven Laurence Olivier Awards. 

Yet while she thinks her mother is amazing, Finty doesn't wish to be anyone else but herself.

In an interview with The Times, Finty recently said: 'A lot of people want to go, "She's not as good as her mother," which is true, but I can also name you another 80 people who probably aren't as good.'

She added: 'She is jaw-dropping, but I also happen to think that Helen McCrory is jaw-droppingly brilliant. I happen to think Ruth Wilson is jaw-droppingly brilliant.

'I don't aspire to be any of those people. I'm me, and I've got the cards that I've been dealt.' 

Pack of Lies will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory until November 17.
