This article aims to analyze the effect of civil service exams on the racial composition of Brazilian civil servants, in the light of reflections on historical movements of discrimination in the Brazilian labor market. The Brazilian bureaucracy was chosen as focus at this moment because, among other reasons, it represents a significant portion of the labor market. The article starts with a bibliographic review to identify sources of information and triangulate secondary data from official research institutes that help in the construction of the proposed objective. As a contribution, it is expected to expand this research window, find and strengthen ways to combat racial inequality and expand diversity in different social spaces.
