The outbreak of the war in Ukraine and above all its presentation by the media in neighbouring countries (especially Lithuania) raises questions : what is called “our war” ? when is it called this way ? and what is being done today in the name of this so-called “our war”. It is striking to observe that this denomination no longer depends on the territory where the war takes place : people consider the war to be theirs even if it takes place on foreign soil. This phenomenon is not new. There are other comparable, or reversed, examples in the history of the 20th century. This suggests that consciousness should be conceived not as an empty vessel that the media and propaganda fill with ideas and representations, but as a constant movement of deterritorialisation and reterritorialisation according to the Deleuzian vision.
