Trabalho do inconsciente e mal-estar na cultura

Abstract

Resumo: Relacionam-se duas ideias freudianas, a de mal-estar na cultura e a de trabalho do inconsciente, através da defi nição lacaniana de trabalho como renúncia ao gozo. Ao renunciar ao gozo, o sujeito não sofre somente o mal-estar na cultura, mas também executa o trabalho do inconsciente, o qual, enquanto discurso do Outro, corresponde ao trabalho do sistema simbólico da cultura. É assim que o sujeito, com seu mal-estar, executa um trabalho que não é o seu, mas o do sistema. Dir-se-á, então, em uma perspectiva marxista, que o sujeito é força de trabalho do inconsciente, força enunciadora explorada pelo sistema, força que se medirá pela capacidade de renunciar ao gozo da vida. Abstract: Two Freudian ideas, civilization and its discontents and the workings of the unconscious, are related by using the Lacanian definition of labor as a renunciation of jouissance. By renouncing jouissance, the subject not only suff ers civilization and its discontents, but also acts as the unconscious mind, which, as a discourse of the Other, corresponds to the workings of the symbolic order of culture. Th us, with its discontents, the subject does a job that does not belong to it, but to the system. From a Marxist point of view, then, the subject is the unconscious mind’s labor power, a power of statement that is exploited by the system and measured by its ability to renounce the enjoyment of life.
