Revelações sobre um tempo de tédio

Abstract

Resumo: O artigo trata, a partir do filme Revelações, baseado no romance homônimo de Philip Roth A marca humana, considerações sobre o contemporâneo que, ao pretender suprimir a diferença sob o rótulo do politicamente correto, gesta uma realidade mais intolerante. A tese é que tal realidade violenta é gestada nos momento de tédio, tão almejados pela homeostase pulsional. O discurso politicamente correto traz essa fantasia de pureza, mas é obsceno, pois tenta suprimir a diferença absoluta pela santidade fingida. O filme retratando o momento político-social norteamericano durante o escândalo Clinton-Lewinsky, é o retrato do longo tédio que o neoliberalismo impõe como nova ordem social. Tal tédio é pensado com a tentativa de fazer o Um englobante, que arma um cenário que conjuga o cansaço da vida com o obsceno. Tal sentimento já fora identificado por George Steiner ao analisar o horror dos atos de guerra no século XX, que teriam sido gestados durante o século anterior. O aborrecimento do século XIX foi gestado durante os séculos turbulentos representados pela revolução francesa, fenômeno histórico que influenciou nosso social com o parlamentarismo, o comunismo e até o nacional-socialismo. Não só pelo tumulto como também como um novo modo de vida operado por uma nova classe social no poder, e que cria uma nova junção entre o imaginário e o simbólico. Logo após esse momento de turbulência, um grande tédio, mas que dentro de sua contradição gestou em seu seio uma crítica “nervosa”, e por isso a modernidade pode ser considerada neurótica. Uma nova combinatória erótica em que o declínio da imago paterna provoca. Mas os momentos turbulentos do advento da segunda guerra mundial parecem ter de novo possibilitado um grande momento de fastio, culminado no novo arranjo do modo de produção capitalista, o neoliberalismo. Uma nova erótica, uma mutação que faz passar uma economia organizada pelo recalque para uma economia organizada pelo gozo. Um novo tédio se organiza pela falta de utopia, onde não há possibilidade de separação de objeto. Palavras-chave: psicanálise; neoliberalismo; sociedade do tédio. Abstract: Based on Philip Roth’s The Human Stain, this piece starts with a movie of the same name to consider modern-day life that, when intending to suppress the difference under the guise of what is politically correct, gestates a reality that is more intolerant. It is theorized that such violent reality is devised in moments of boredom, which is so much desired by the homeostasis of drive. Politically correct discourse shows this fantasy of purity, but it is obscene, since it attempts to suppress absolute difference in favor of a make-believe holier-than-thou superiority. The movie, which depicts the American social and political moment during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, is the portrait of the long tedium that neoliberalism imposes as the new social order. Such tedium is designed to be the allencompassing One, which sets the stage for combining l’ennui with the obscene. This feeling was already identified by George Steiner when he analyzed the horror of the acts of war in the 20th Century, which were supposedly incubated throughout the previous century. The boredom of the 19th Century was gestated during the turbulent centuries leading up to the French Revolution, a historical phenomenon that influenced our society with Parliamentarism, Communism, and National Socialism, not just by the uproar, but also by a new way of life that was operated by a new social class in power, which created a new junction between the imaginary and the symbolic. Soon after this moment of turbulence, there was a vast boredom that, in its contradiction, entailed an “angry” critique. This is why modernity can be considered neurotic. This is about a new erotic combination that the father imago’s decline brings about, since it ceases to make an impact. But turbulent times, with the coming of the World War II, seem to have made it impossible for a new great moment of bore to happen anew, thus culminating in the new configuration of the capitalist mode of production: neoliberalism. This is a new erotica, a change that makes an economy organized around repression become one that is organized around la jouissance.
