The Introduction of Instrumental Technologies and their Relationship with Pharmaceutical Forms Complied in the Mexican Pharmacopoeia

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the different editions of the Mexicam Pharmacopoeia along its three centuries of existence in order to observe their differences and changes through the years. The main area of interest will be the relationship between the inclusion of new intrumental technology and the number and characteristics of pharmaceutical forms. The aim is to stablish the influence of the advance in the knowledge of this technology on the possibility of including new and different pharmaceutical forms and when this happened. Finally, we will study the section on natural products in order to find out wether the technological development also had an influence on the number and identification of the drugs.
