Resumo

O artigo começa com uma hermenêutica comparativa das incongruentes cosmovisões herdadas do transcendentalismo de Emerson e do materialismo cético de Santayana, prossegue para a convergência de Peirce com o transcendentalismo de Emerson em uma configuração neo-neoplatônica e neo-aristotélica, com referência particular ao alcance das palestras das Conferências de Cambridge de 1898.
