Discussing the classification of the alterations in written language in aphasia from a discoursive perspective

Abstract

This paper discusses, under a discursive perspective, the variety of terminologies found to characterize the alterations of written language of the many types of aphasia. The purpose is to situate the conception of language that underlies this terminological “forest”, as well as to situate the usefulness of the classifications for the treatment of aphasic patients.
