Stammering: origin and treatment

Abstract

Analysing the discourse of a group of stutterers about the story of their speech development, I came to the conclusion that a self-image of a bad speaker characterizes the stutterer’s identity and lies at the basis of his articulatory behavior and that such a self-image arises from paradoxal communication situations.
