Acquisition of a hearing aid: a citizen right

Abstract

The prese3nt work shows the results of research made in DERDIC – Division of Education and Rehabilitation of the Communication Disorders – comprising the total amount of its deaf students. This paper brings information about the technical conditions of the hearing devices worn by these students and analyzes the ways that the equipment was acquired by the student’s family. Our goal is to increase the discussions about the brazilian citizen rights, focusing the difficulties of acquisition of hearing aids, problem not yet solved by public health service.
