About the articulatory phonetic of the consonants

Abstract

With this article we try to provide na explanation about the descriptive parameters of consonant segments – airstreams mechanisms, directions of the airstreams, states of the glottis (VOT), nasality, manners of articulation, places of articulation and active articulations – exactly as the articulatory phonetics uses nowadays, but focusing the attention to the consonants of Portuguese.
