Historical conscience and professional identity
Abstract
This paper deals with the moment of reflection and transformation faced by a speech therapist who tries to establish her identity and to delimit the boundaries of her own knowledge. For that goal, this article suggests a historical perspective of reexamining the path of the speech therapist practice and relating that with the established social norms. From this point of view, the author presents her contribution describing her own research about the historical analysis of the origin of speech therapy in the city of Sao Paulo.Downloads
