Abstract

This paper is a reflection on childhood language diagnosis. The aim is to present and discuss two diagnoses procedures deriving from some issues of pathology. The article discusses how these different ideas can contribute to the clinical method. It also presents the technique used by the group Small Children’s Language Diagnosis Program, developed at DERDIC (Sep.97 to Sep.98), which offers advantages compared with others used in childhood clinic (for children who often “don’t talk” or “talk very little”).
