Speech pathology therapeutic process: focusing on the therapist-patient relation
Keywords:
therapeutic process, speech-language pathology clinic, singularity.Abstract
The therapeutic process focusing mainly the relationship between a therapist and a patient has seldom been discussed in speech pathology scientific works. However, it is known that the clinic material is very important for the scientific material support. The goal of this work is the discussion about the therapist’s performance and his transformation in view of the patient’s singularity. Therefore, a case study with therapeutic fragments from the relationship between therapist and patient is presented, where we discuss the transformation and the effects that emerge from this relationship. This article is concluded by pointing to the therapist’s need to be more aware of the child’s and family’s singularity than of the application of therapy techniques.
