Abstract

In Brazil the vocal health theme has been annually approached through several resources, including mass spreading materials as folders. The goal of this paper is to analyze the folders published for the national voice campaigns in 1999, 2000 and 2001. The method used was documentary analysis of the folders. The analysis takes into consideration the lay out, the content and language used, besides having the purpose of showing symbolisms, conceptions and representations that are inferred from the folders. All these items will be regarded having as reference the construction of an educational process in health area keeping up with the perspective of health promotion. The analysis brought out important aspects about the conception of subject, health, voice, vocal health and education in the health area, that are inferred from those campaigns and that are not held according to the health promotion proposal. It suggests a review and an actualization of the conceptions in force in order to have a change and a qualitative advance in the preventive collective actions and in the promotion of vocal health. It also points out the disciplines and stages of the preventive – community spirit areas of the graduation courses as privileged spaces for the change, advancement and promotion above mentioned.
