Vestibular disorders in alcoholics: preliminary study

The goal of the present study was to verify the vestibular findings in alcoholic individuals through vectoelectronystagmography (VENG). Eight adult patients ( 1 female and 7 male) were selected, with age from 33 to 54 years old who made alcohol ingestion, and submitted to VENG. The results showed up three cases of irritable peripheral vestibular syndrome and five deficitary peripheral vestibular syndrome. The results conclude that the use of alcohol can carry out vestibular peripheral alteration.Downloads
