Abstract

This paper aims at making aphasia the locus for the discussion of the problem theory/ideology in the field of language therapies. Language is the keyword. We assume that, if language is not taken as a problematic proposition, a theory on techniques with regard to language therapy cannot be devised. This is exactly when and why ideology takes the place of theory. Making language a problematic proposition in the field of speech therapy involves evaluating what theoretical approach to language is able to contemplate questions related to the subject, the other, errors and change. Then it is not any language conceptualization what fulfills the requirements between theoretical hypothesis and clinical procedures.
