Zonas mortas da cóclea e amplificação: avaliação de resultados
Keywords:
hearing loss, hearing aids, inventoryAbstract
This study aimed to assess the outcomes of an inventory on hearing aids users with dead zones in the cochlea. It was given the IOI-HA (International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids) to 29 hearing aids users with sloping sensorioneural hearing loss, for which the results in TEN test indicated dead regions in the cochlea. All were aged between 13 and 83 years (mean 48 years). The result showed that hearing aids users were satisfied with the amplification, and, therefore, the dead zone indicated by TEN testing, alone, is not yet sufficient to define proper conduct to prescribe the acoustical gain of a hearing aid.Downloads
