Análise das habilidades auditivas de um sujeito com paralisia facial periférica: um estudo de caso
Keywords:
Facial Paralysis, Auditory Perception, Acoustic Reflex.Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyse the auditory processing skills and the immediate audiological change in a patient presenting a suprastapedial peripheral facial paralysis. The patient was submitted to: Sound Localization Test, Index Speech Recognition Test (recorded words) and Low redundancy Monoaural tests for auditory processing evaluation. Results showed that there is a close relationship between stapedius reflex integrity and good performance of auditory abilities as, since the tested auditory abilities improved as the facial paralysis was reverted and the acoustic reflex was present again.Downloads
