Abstract

The purpose of this text is to discuss aspects of the feminist literary critics and its relevance in the context of modern critics, once the recognition for feminine literary production is still a very recent fact. The article, besides focusing on approaches from Elaine Showalter and Toril Moi, who rescue founding texts, establishing the basis for feminist critics, also checks on the relationship between feminist literary critics and literary critics in general. It is also taken into account that the gender being discussed contributes for the political project of feminism, once reading collaborates with preparing women for social intervention, by creating communities of readers capable of dialoguing with academic means of patriarchal culture. The exercise of criticizing and reviewing provides for the establishment of a dialogical relationship among the author, the reader, and the character.
