MELANCOLIA E OUTRAS PERDAS: A POESIA DE FREDERICO BARBOSA

Abstract

The present research aims at studying the poetic work of Frederico Barbosa, particularly his book Louco no oco sem beiras: anatomia da depressão (Madman in the hollow without margins: an anatomy of depression), emphasizing the poetic language and verbal control, as well as the interactions with other languages and codes. For this matter we have taken as a theoretical basis the social function of poetry as seen by Eliot and Jakobson's poetics.
