Abstract

This article examines the issue of identity in the Antônio Torres novel Pelo fundo da agulha (2006), that witness the displacement of the ontological essence of the peasant to the condition of the urban man, displaced from its native environment and its existential condition. The article points out the hypothesis of occurrence of the loss of identity.
