Apontamentos sobre Ditadura e loucura em Quatro-Olhos de Renato Pompeu
Keywords:
Dictatorship, Madness, Memory, Renato Pompeu, Quatro-OlhosAbstract
The article analyzes the novel Quatro-Olhos (1976), by Renato Pompeu. The work addresses the issue of madness in an intimate dialogue with perception and memory of the military coup in Brazil. The proposed interpretation suggests how, in the articulation of a literary expression, delirium becomes a bearer of discernment and unfolds into a metaphor of resistance to dictatorship, either through the exercise of remembering in order to document, forgetting in order to survive or writing in order to transgress. With poetic mastery, Renato Pompeu overcomes the dichotomy between form and content and creates a rare novel in Brazilian literature.Downloads
