Abstract

This study verifies similarities between Bakhtin (1895-1975) and his circle and Heidegger (1889-1976), considering subject, language and object, For Bakhtin and the circle, these issues are embodied through social interaction. The Russian theoretician advocates an epistemological and ethical view which stands away from explanations that are either centered on the individual or referred to a system that stands above the individual. Heidegger also counteracts a traditional thinking that relies on a rational system that dominates the subject. Due to the complexity of the issues, this study does not aim to get to precise conclusions, but to present a possible approach between the two thinkers.
