Abstract

This article analyzes an interaction between a child diagnosed with autism and her mother. The analyses focus on the correlations between speech, body and gestures, such as pointing gestures; body postures and movements; eye gaze. Here we present concepts and forms of record and analyze these interactions in a multimodal perspective inspired by an articulation made between Fernand Deligny work and Conversation Analysis approach, both oriented to the microanalysis of mundane social interactions. This analysis highlights the importance of the body's role for autism studies.
