A LINGUAGEM VERBO-VISUAL DAS CAPAS DE REVISTA E OS IMPLÍCITOS NA CONSTITUIÇÃO DE SENTIDO

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of verbal-visual language of magazine covers, as a reading task with the purpose of promoting critical reading. To accomplish this task the dialogic bakhtinian theory of language applied to the analysis of discursive genres (BAKHTIN, 2003) is adopted. These covers, considered as concrete enunciations, demonstrate dialogical relationships among participants in the interaction: the entrepreneurs, who represent their company, the implicit reader and the historical-social context. As objects of the analysis, two covers from Veja magazine, the 1952 and 1980 editions, have been chosen. The analysis of these two covers made it possible to observe the implicit senses in meaning production and the dialogical relationships which have been established.Downloads
