A VISÃO DE EDITORES SOBRE O GÊNERO RESENHA ACADÊMICA

Abstract

This paper discusses book reviewing practices in three different disciplines. Information collected through interviews with the editors of three journals informs the discussion. Considering the concept of genre as encompassing a set of interrelated textual and contextual features, questions concerning the configuration of the genre and the formal aspects of the texts are analyzed. The results indicate an existing continuum between more descriptive and more evaluative texts across disciplinary boundaries, and may contribute for the adequation of academic reading and writing tasks.
