Abstract

The aim of this paper was to reflect about the teachers’ vocal wearing down. An analysis of three studies had been made and had compared the data of vocal alteration occurrence, factors that set off vocal problems, vocal symptoms associated to speech and vocal wearing down. On average, 59,1% of the voices had some alteration. Vocal fatigue, teaching time variation and teaching level changed independently of vocal quality. Allergies, how long they have been teaching and their age were related with vocal alteration. Teachers need vocal preparation because professional limitation is frustrating and not good to teaching performance.
