CARTAS COMERCIAIS EM LÍNGUA INGLESA: UMA ABORDAGEM LEXICAL
Abstract
This article analyses 100 business letters in English -- 29 job application letters, 36 promotion letters and 35 negotiation letters -- taken from the DIRECT project database. It aims at verifying by means of computer software (Scott, 1997b) whether there are lexical patterns brought about by communicative intentions. So such patterns are thought as particular genre features which mirror much of genre- contents. Regardless their experiential differences some partial results point at interpersonal similarities among the three groups of documents.Downloads
