Abstract

This article, located in the discourse analysis area, aims to study the role of journalism in the presentation of the festival Rec N Play 2019. The festival takes place in the most traditional and oldest area of Recife (PE), seeks innovation and is identified by the local press as a kind of knowledge carnival. Its programs, linked to the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), are associated with the cultural and historical processes of the region, through reference to the momo party. Theoretically and analytically based on Michael Pêcheux, in the understanding of discursive formations, the work aims to investigate the stages of production and reproduction of meanings in the discourse of the new, able to creating and re-adapting memories through the repetition, speed and dissemination of information and images, resources typical of contemporary media discourses.
