This paper aims to analyse an electronic journalistic text about indigenous lands in Brazil from the perspective of ideational metafunction (Halliday, 1994; Halliday; Matthiessen, 2014). The electronic journalistic text was annotated and quantified with data from this metafunction on AntConc (Anthony, 2024). The results point out that the most frequent categories are, namely, material, relational, and verbal Processes, the Participants Actor, Goal, Carrier, Attribute, Identifier, Identified, Value, Token, and Sayer; the Location, Extension, and Manner Circumstances; Expansion, Parataxis, Single Clauses and Minor Clauses functioning as Absolute.
