A PRODUÇÃO DAS PLOSIVAS ALVEOLARES /T/ E /D/ POR UM SUJEITO COM DEFICIÊNCIA AUDITIVA: UM ESTUDO FONÉTICO-ACÚSTICO.

Abstract

Hearing impairment can cause a difficulty in the production of the voice contrast. This research considers the speech production of plosive consonants by a hearing-impaired subject. In order to conduct it, a corpus comprised of four words (“tata”, “data”, “cata”, “cada”) inserted in a carrier sentence was submitted to acoustic analysis by means of the Praat software program. The results showed that the percentage of voicing during the obstruction time interval of the plosive was the most altered parameter. This study was based on the Acoustic Theory of Speech Production (Fant, 1960) and Articulatory Phonology (Browman, Goldstein, 1986; 1990; 1992).
