PUT THE SON THROUGH THE MOUTH!THE VERBS TOPUT AND TO PLACE IN THE SPEAK OF FORTALEZA-CE UNDER THE VARIATIONIST BIAS

Based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Variationist Sociolinguistics, we analyzed the effect of linguistic and extralinguistic variables on the variation of to put in order to expel, to vomit, to throw out, to expel and to give birth in the popular speech of Fortaleza–CE, from data extracted from the NORPOFOR, using 72 informants of the DID record type, stratified by sex, age group and scholarity. The GoldVarb X program counted 846 occurrences, of which85.7% corresponds to the verb to put and 14.3% to the verb to place, as well as also selected the variables discursive topic (memories) and age group (range II), as allies of this verb.
