Abstract

Constructing family integrity is a normative developmental challenge for older people, which is influenced by the family and social systems. This exploratory study examines the emigration trajectories of former Portuguese emigrants, now in old age, who returned to their home country (Portugal). And aims to contribute to a better understand of the influence of emigration experiences in the construction of family integrity versus disconnection and alienation.
