Abstract

This study aimed to characterize the morbidity and mortality profile and point out the challenges for the Home Nursing of elderly Brazilians. It was conducted a descriptive study with secondary data. There was an increase in the number of elderly, and the profile of mortality and hospitalizations was marked by chronic diseases. In this context, Home Nursing figure as an important alternative to delivery an integral care, but it has been implemented with significant restrictions.
