Abstract

This journal, affiliated to the Faculty of Human Sciences and Health (FACHS / PUC-SP), in its volume 20, celebrates, two decades of uninterrupted academic placement, fidelity to a time that the name Kairós enunciates. It is from this volume 20 (1) that the happy institution of the DOI is also celebrated for the works published in its four regular volumes, with works concerned with issues such as longevity, aging, old age, and the problems of the elderly.
Endeavor and resistance to countless hands, in the case of this magazine, to researchers, authors, referees, and an editorial team that has been renewed, which contributed during these 20 years so that one could publish, with rigor but not without lightness, the diversity inherent in aging, and, with great luck, receiving more and more texts in interface with other areas of knowledge. Our respectful tribute to all! We were able to move on and on: semiannually, the magazine became four-monthly and some quarterly. From a few works, a fixed number of 25 works per number was opened, being open to internationalization, in the sense of receiving works in its trilingual format (Portuguese-PB or PE, Spanish and English), bilingual or monolingual languages, also in French or Italian).
And not only from the results of research in articles at the post-doc, doctoral and master's level, but also from the undergraduate level, along with the supervisors (scientific initiation, completion of specialization courses, improvement ...). Finally, a magazine that proposes to welcome especially works of young-researchers who, motivated, can continue to be guided, from so many and valuable suggestions of the referees, to improve their academic-scientific writing - and not to give up that work that does not leave to be a challenge to beginners. It is worth noting how much each issue privileges works coming from the most diverse Brazilian states, also bringing articles by foreign authors, which means that the magazine welcomes papers that meet the criteria of regionality, as well as internationality.
The work of this volume ratifies some tendencies: (i) the partnership of two or more writers in the writing of an article; (ii) affiliated with different areas / Programs / Universities, attesting to the interdisciplinary dialogue between different areas and institutions around aging; (iii) the increasing participation of physiotherapists, physical educators, physicians, nutritionists, occupational therapists, gerontologists, nurses, psychologists, pedagogues and social workers; (iv) linguists, speech therapists, researchers of new technologies, also enriching this publishing space.
