One of the most important aspects in the field of geriatrics and gerontology is to determine the variability of the components of body composition (BC), as the changes in the CC of old age have great metabolic and functional impact. Changes in BC do not occur uniformly among the elderly, existing profiles or phenotypes BC associated with aging, such as sarcopenic, obese and obese sarcopenic. Understanding the relations between the CC in the elderly is of extreme relevance for preventive, diagnostic and treatment measures.
