O artigo analisa, à luz da teoria do discurso de Bakhtin, as vozes do narrador, do autor e da personagem Fabiano no romance Vidas Secas, focando as estratégias lingüísticas que os delimitam e separam da aparente homogeneidade dos discursos indireto e indireto livre.
