Narrativas identitária do Brasil por Gilberto Freyre

Resumo

O artigo analisa, à luz de Gilberto Freyre, as identidades híbridas do Brasil, constatando haver na literatura (espelho da cultura) de José de Alencar (narrativa das coisas e gentes míticas da ambiência tropical) e de Machado de Assis (descrição implícita do contexto sócio-cultural conflituosos no quadro do escravismo), de forma complementar, respectivamente, exaltação mítica e embate ideológico do sempre provisório e fragmentário rosto brasileiro. O artigo encontra em Freyre a proposta de interpretação narrativa do Brasil a partir do patrimônio linguístico da língua portuguesa, espelho-mor da cultura, chão da mente, narrativa e exposição hermenêutica do drama ou complexo genético da identidade brasileira. Abstract The article analyzes, in the light of Gilberto Freyre’s ideas, hybrid identities of Brazil, certifying there to be in the literature (mirror of the culture) of José de Alencar (narrative of things and mythical people of the tropical ambience) and of Machado of Assis (implicit description of the conflicting sociocultural context in the slavery framework), in a complemental way, respectively, mythical exaltation and ideological dispute of the always temporary and fragmentary Brazilian face. The article stress that it is in Freyre’s ideas we can find the proposal of Brazil’s narrative interpretation departing from the linguistic patrimony of the Portuguese language, the most important mirror of culture, ground of mind, hermeneutic narrative and axhibition of the drama or genetic complex of the Brazilian identity.
