Abstract

The objective of this study is to make a briefexposition of the central theoretical axes ofpost-colonial theory and world systems theory, including an argument about their links to Marxism;to analyze some hypotheses on a possiblephilosophical and political basis for that link; and, based on those premises, to try to apply that linkto a specific problem: the relationship betweencertain cultural forms and the reconstruction ofcollective “identities” in the context of globalization.
