This article analyzes the political support given by Juscelino Kubitschek for the maintenance of Portuguese colonialism. In the fourth UN Commission, Brazil defended the view that Portugal did not possessed colonies but rather over-sea provinces. Hence, this article analyzes the reasons why JK supported the Portuguese colonialism.
