Abstract

If a social class is far from being restricted to a structure, its historical insertion can be captured by researchers by examining its formation. Hence, in this article we aim to question the relevance of the concept of working-class formation in the mobilization of Alentejo’s rural proletariat during the dictatorial regime of the Portuguese Estado Novo.
