Abstract

In this testimony-tribute, the author highlights different aspects of Heleieth Saffioti’s intellectual trajectory: from her lectures to the rigor with which she taught sociology, to the defense of her thesis that developed into the classic Woman in class society, which legitimized the area of women and gender relations studies in Brazil. As a true artisan, Heleieth conducted her research on class, gender and race/ ethnicity exploitation.
