Abstract

This article develops a reflection on the figure of the individual in Althusser’s theory by reference to the very gap identified by Althusser in historical materialism, which is the lack of a theory of individuality. The first section is dedicated to explore the references to the figure of the individual in Marx’s mature works, and the second, to establish a connection between these references and indications of Althusser useful to the development of the proposed issue.
